Weekly Overview 07.09–13.09

This week is retest week. After building our Front Squat and Push Press throughout August, we’re going back to the 8-rep tests we established at the beginning of the cycle and seeing what progress we’ve made.

Monday starts with our 8RM Front Squat retest before we take on the classic Hero workout Daniel. Pull-ups, running and thrusters make this a big start to the week, and smart pacing will be much more important than coming out too hot.

Tuesday switches gears with gymnastics and repeat sprint work. Wall walks and midline work lead into six short efforts where the goal is to earn as much time as possible on the box jumps.

Wednesday brings our 8RM Push Press retest, followed by the September Monthly Challenge — a partner 5,000m row. Choose your partner wisely because you’ll be retesting this one together later in the month.

Thursday is all about speed. Five short intervals of double-unders and overhead dumbbell walking lunges should be fast, aggressive and repeatable.

Friday is our 9/11 343 Tribute Workout, remembering the 343 FDNY firefighters who lost their lives on September 11, 2001. Nine rounds of burpees, Olympic lifting and gymnastics make this a tough physical and mental test.

Saturday is a partner grind with rowing, kettlebell swings and box step-ups. Control the first part of the workout so you’ve still got something left when you get back onto the rower.

Sunday closes the week with a long bodyweight endurance piece: 3,000m of running alongside high-volume push-ups and air squats.

There’s plenty going on this week. Two strength retests, our September Challenge, a Hero workout and a tribute workout mean this definitely isn’t the week to feel like you have to Rx everything. Train hard. Scale smart. Keep moving well.
