Build Your Strength: Unity 4’s New 8-Week Training Cycle
At Unity 4 Performance, we’re kicking off something big. From 1st September 2025, our members will start an 8-week strength cycle focused on three of the most important lifts in functional fitness: the back squat, strict press, and deadlift.
Whether your goal is to move better in daily life, improve performance in sport, or just feel stronger than ever, this cycle has been designed to give you real, measurable results.
Why These Lifts?
Squat – The king of lower body strength. It builds power through your quads, hamstrings, and glutes, and develops stability through your core.
Strict Press – No leg drive, no momentum, just pure upper body strength. This lift builds bulletproof shoulders and arms that carry over into everything from handstands to pull-ups.
Deadlift – The ultimate test of raw strength. Deadlifts strengthen your posterior chain (hamstrings, glutes, and back), improve grip, and make you unstoppable in any pulling movement.
By focusing on these three compound lifts, we’re not just getting stronger—we’re laying down the foundation for everything else in the gym.
What to Expect Over 8 Weeks
The program has been carefully structured by our coaching team to balance progressive overload with smart recovery. Across the cycle you’ll see:
A test week to establish your starting numbers.
Progressive weekly sessions with varied rep ranges to build both strength and muscle.
Accessory work to strengthen weak points and prevent injury.
A final re-test week to measure how far you’ve come.
This isn’t about smashing yourself into the ground every session. It’s about consistent progression, smart training, and celebrating the small wins that add up to big changes.
